What we do
Life up on Hampton Hill
As an extension of the area of Hampton, Hampton Hill has been known as ‘New Hampton’, though the name has not stuck. The area is part of the TW post code, but remains in the large Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The area has not been developed a lot, its central streets are protected as listed buildings, despite not actually being buildings at all. The area is served by Hampton, Fulwell and Teddington railway stations, giving access to the city once every half an hour. Proximity to the capital alongside pleasant scenery and residential buildings means that many of the residents here are indeed commuters, though there is a certain amount of local employment in the services industries, catering for those living there. The High street, that the area is built around, has a variety of excellent bars, cafes, bakeries and restaurants, and there is an excellent community surrounding these outlets, via the Hampton Hill Trader’s Association, who support each other and pool together to get things like the Christmas lights sorted out.
