Get to know Custom House
Custom House is based in the London Borough of Newham and was named after Royal Victoria Dock’s custom house. This was a prominent dock from 1855 to 1940 but is now a recreational dock. The area’s largest landmark is the ExCeL Exhibition Centre and visitors to this area can stay in the Custom House Hotel, which opened in 2001. It is also home to one of King George’s Fields, which was put there in memory of King George V. Excellent transport links are brought to the area via Custom House station and Prince Regent DLR station. Nearby areas are Silvertown, Canning Town and North Woolwich.
