Learn a Little about Burnt Oak
Burnt Oak is a suburb the north-east part of London. It is mostly in the Borough of Barnet and uses the HA8 postcode. The area was originally just a field but shops appeared in the 1890s and the area expanded, with a railways station following in 1924. A church and school were built in 1934. Burnt Oak has a prominent East European community of people originating from Bulgaria, Romania and Poland. Some places close by to the suburb are Elstree, Edgware, The Hale, Mill Hill, Colindale, Grahame Park, Kingsbury and Queensbury.
