What to Expect from Blackheath Area
Finding your way around Blackheath is easy thanks to the great public transport. Found in the south east of London, it is famous for places such as Blackheath Park and Blackheath vale, which were local places hundreds of years ago, included in the area. Golf is a famous sport of the area, with many considering it the first place in which sport was introduced into the country. The gold club is based in the nearby Eltham. There is also the oldest recorded rugby club in England. The area is known for possessing one of the largest areas of common land in London. This makes it popular with people of nearby areas such as Greenwich, Woolwich, Lewisham and Deptford. Also located nearby are the less famous places such as Kidbrooke, Mottingham and Lee Green, all of which are easily accessible via buses and overground trains. Those thinking about getting to the centre of the city can travel to Greenwich or Lewisham to find stations which access the DLR network. Also located nearby is Charlton, whose football team is followed by many in the area.
